We asked our executive board members to tell why they wanted to join The Brother Sister Campaign...here is what they said!
Joining and committing to a non-profit organization is not easy work! By definition, the organization is not bringing in revenue, only by donations and fundraising. Which means, our team is not receiving monetary compensation. However, the beautiful thing about it is, our team did not join for the purpose of physical reward, instead, they wanted to focus their time on the community!
Along with a great team, we have an awesome executive board (a few of them are in the picture on the left) that help with decision-making and preparation for engagements. So we decided to ask them why they joined the team to get a better insight of what the campaign values.
First up, the President and Founder of BSC, Kendal Major!
"I founded this organization in 2014 after graduating high school because I was passionate and dedicated to making a difference within my communities and ultimately my country, the Bahamas. As a young adult, I knew that an organization of young adults would be able to effectively touch and impact the lives of the youth of our country!"
Next, our Vice President, DJ Seymour!
"I joined BSC in 2014; I’ve always been apart of volunteer groups and took part in many community service projects. Being a volunteer runs in my family so becoming a member of BSC was a no brainer. I decided to join BSC not only because I liked giving but I enjoy making others smile and being there for others when they are in need of encouragement. I chose to be apart of BSC because BSC consists of young adults who are determined to make an impact on the lives of others."
And lastly, our Treasurer, Leighton Gibson!
"I joined BSC when it was established in 2014 as apart of the founding team. I like having the opportunities to give guidance to the youth, where I can open their minds to different life and career paths that they can work towards."
As a campaign, we are extremely blessed to be composed of great young adults who have a focus on the youth of the Bahamas, as well as on the community.
